i phone 5S gets health conscious |
While many mobile fitness apps tend to be focused on wrist-friendly wearables,
Apple company could be planning to tap into the actual smartphone that is
already within your pocket to record actions and other data.
9to5Mac has been
doing some digging into Apple's latest iOS 8 beta 3, released July seven, and
found it includes several enhancements to the built-in Health application that
made its presentaciĆ³n during WWDC 2014.
Beginning with the latest beta, the
Health application now appears to tap straight into the M7 motion monitoring
hardware included in the iPhone 5S to source fitness information. There's no
need for the legendary iWatch or other health and fitness devices worn by the
consumer.
Using nothing but the device, the Health app is now effective at
reporting the user's movement in a Steps counter tabs. The tab includes a
complete week's worth of data which can be sorted by Day, 7 days, Month or Year,
much like other health-centric apps.
View that caffeine
According to the statement, the Health app works very
well using nothing more than the new on-device support, adding that monitoring
works for both actions and distance.
In addition to supply the M7 sensor,
Apple's Health app has also additional caffeine intake to a record of
nutritional categories the program can track, a pleasant addition for frequent
espresso or tea junkies.
Final but certainly not least, the actual Medical ID
section of Wellness has been tweaked with a red-colored navigation bar that
makes the actual emergency card feature from the app a bit easier within the
eyes.
iOS 8 beta 3 was released to programmers along with a third release
associated with OS X Yosemite ten. 10 for the Mac, that delivers iCloud Drive
sign-up, Wi-Fi calling for T-Mobile apple iphones and improvements to QuickType,
Photos and FaceTime.
