The area Mini has had its great number of setbacks, with current rumours
claiming that Ms pulled the plug upon its titular tablet in May due to "fierce
competition" in the small-size segment.
Right now, ever-reliable tech insider
@evleaks has flicked the (pint-sized) life support machine change back into the
"on" place with a tweet that statements the Mini has folded back onto the
production collection.
It also reckons
the device will discover a summer
release, although it doesn't say whether that is this
year or 2015.
We would
bet on the former due to the fact Microsoft's touch-friendly 'Gemini' edition of
Office is apparently landing during the same time period, and it would make
sense so that you can launch with the other.
Tiny Machines
Touted to
be a stylus-packing, OneNote-flaunting productivity marvel within the vein of
the Surface Professional 3, the Surface Mini is actually rumoured to pack the
Qualcomm or ARM processor chip and a 7-inch 1440 by 1080 pixel-resolution
display having an iPad-like 4: 3 element ratio.
If the device can make it
onto shelves, it will be
fascinating to see whether Microsoft dangers further
derision by sticking with its Windows RT weapons, or if it outs the beefier
full-fat Windows eight version to take on offerings through its hardware
partners -- such as Lenovo's ThinkPad eight, Acer's Iconia W4 as well as
Toshiba's Encore 2 .
