Google has acquired online movie streaming company RayV using the aim of
distributing content in order to more people, particularly through mobile
devices.
RayV, founded within 2005, is focused on effectively
distributing HD-quality video to some global audience, with a concentrate on
mobile.
Terms of the deal are not disclosed. “Yahoo is focused upon
growing video users as well as monthly streams, and while we will only getting
started, we’re really focused on this in 2014, ” Yahoo said in the announcement
of the deal.
RayV’s service will improve Yahoo’s fundamental technology
infrastructure, and most associated with RayV’s employees will sign up for
Yahoo’s R&D center within Tel Aviv, Israel.
A great deal between
Yahoo and RayV was in the works no less than a couple months, according to The
Wall Street Journal. The actual acquisition comes as Google CEO Marissa Mayer is
concentrated on giving people mare like a reason to visit Yahoo’s website,
partly through original on the internet shows.
Yahoo’s Screen website
includes a range of videos such as original news, as well as content material
from partners like Humor Central, BuzzFeed and Weekend Night Live.
Yahoo

Screen, after it was terminated by NBC earlier this season.
